Nick Re
Practice principal Dr Nicholas Re (B.Sc, B.Ap.Sc, M.Ost.Med) is a fully qualified and registered Osteopath, University Lecturer, Personal trainer (cert IV fitness) and First Aid/Mental Health First Aid trainer (cert IV Training & Assessment).
Nick completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in physiology and pharmacology, in Melbourne. Then spent two years working in the UK and Middle East as a psychological profiler.
Following this, Nick returned to his studies, completing a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Masters in Osteopathic Medicine.
Nick has worked as a fitness, performance and injury consultant to a number of sporting teams including AFL, Basketball & Cirque Du Soleil.
Nick created Retrain Health to fill a need in the Northern Rivers for accessible, personalised, health care that caters to the needs of the local community.
Nick is currently the Practice Principal at Retrain Health. Is the CEO of Corporate Healthcare, and is employed by the NSW Ministry of Health on the Health Professional Council Authority.

Jethro Hedstrom
Jethro Hedstrom completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Perth's Curtin University, graduating on the Vice Chancellor's list in 2015.
After working in his home town of Margaret River in WA, he gained overseas experience working in England's public health system and completing a variety of professional development courses in London.
Jethro enjoys assessing and treating the wide variety of factors which can contribute to someone's pain and dysfunction, and embraces a person centred approach to Physiotherapy- focusing on the whole body and the whole person.
He uses manual therapy, mobilisation with movement techniques, soft tissue massage and dry needling in combination with precise and targeted exercise therapy.
Jethro has a special interest in managing persistent lower back pain and loves helping people trust their body and get back into their life. He is a member of Australia's Pain Revolution Program, attending monthly meetings on how to best translate the latest research to help people with chronic pain.
In his spare time, Jethro loves surfing and hydrofoiling, and exploring up and down the east coast.

Steve Resic
Steve completed his Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Osteopathy in 2015 at Victoria University in Melbourne. In addition, Steve has training in functional medicine (Institute of Functional Medicine), nutrition (Precision Nutrition), dry needling, functional rehabilitation exercises (Gray Institute) and mental health first aid.
Steve has had experience running his own clinic as well as working in other private practices across Melbourne. This also included spending two years working at various aged care facilities across Victoria.
Steve has a holistic approach to Osteopathy where he uses the knowledge of functional medicine to further help guide his patients to better health. Being very active himself, Steve love to help patients return from sporting injuries and get back to the sport they love.
Steve has a hands-on approach for treatment, incorporating massage, myo-fascial release, stretching, dry needling, joint articulation, joint manipulation and rehabilitation exercises.
In Steve’s spare time he loves to go skateboarding, hiking, swimming at the beach, working out in the gym, listening to podcasts and travelling.
REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPIST

Leire Ayerra
Leire is a fully qualified and private health fund eligible remedial massage therapist.
Leire is passionate about holistic health and encourages her patients to strive for optimal wellbeing. She believes massage to be an essential tool for mind-body intervention and achieves this by using a variety of massage techniques including Remedial, Hot Stone, Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, Myofacial, Lymphatic and Trigger Point Release.
In her spare time, Leire is working on her Advanced Diploma in Ayurveda, taking sunrise walks along the beach, hiking around Byron, or dancing and cooking with friends.

Brooke Ferguson
Brooke is a qualified and insured Massage Therapist and 3rd year Osteopathy student. She has completed a certificate in whole-body massage and endeavours to encourage mind and body health for her patients by using techniques such as Relaxation, Deeper Tissue, Myofascial, Lymphatic and Mobilisation.
In her spare time, she works on deepening her Osteopathic knowledge of the human mind and body with personal research and practical workshops to learn new skills. She finds incentive to maintain endeavours with early morning triathlon training sessions and finds reward in the hard work.

Mikaela Ruetschi
Mikaela joined Retrain Health in 2019 as a business management graduate with a focus on environmental management and sustainability. As one of the welcoming faces at our Byron clinic, she brings a professional and caring approach to our administration team. With a passion for everything health and wellness, Mikaela is currently pursuing an Osteopathy degree at Southern Cross University and has completed her yoga teacher training and a clinical Pilates course to enhance her patient care skills.
When not at the clinic, Mikaela enjoys studying, finding balance at the beach, practicing Pilates and yoga, and socializing with friends over a mid-week glass of wine!
Brooke Ferguson
Brooke joined the team in 2022 and rounds out our admin team. Brooke is also currently completing her undergraduate in Osteopathy at Southern Cross University, which she decided to pursue after beginning her studies in Environmental Science and discovering an interest in the human body. She's always seeking to deepen her knowledge, especially in regards to preventative medicine and holistic health. Her personal interest in sociology inclines her to bring warmth and compassion to the clinic environment and she wishes for everyone to walk out with a smile!
When Brooke's not studying or working, she'll be lapping up some sun, tri training, climbing, or cooking for friends and family!
